Prewriting Techniques

Prewriting techniques that I absolutely love using when doing a research paper include brainstorming and bubbling.  Both of these techniques allow me to quickly write down one word or short phrases that I may want to incorporate into my paper.  For example: my paper is on depression within young adults.  So for both prewriting techniques I can quickly jot down ideas such as Depression, treatments, causes, brain function, most affected age group, etc.

I think all of the prewriting techniques listed in the kaplan library document are helpful.  It really just depends what type of writer a person is on which they prefer to use.  I know a lot of my friends choose to use outlining.  To me this is a harder prewriting technique which takes patience and time to do rather than just jotting down simple quick words that first come to mind.

Thanks
