My last six weeks!

Hello Class and Professor:

The last six weeks have been extremely crazy for me.  I have really been working hard on my classes, and making sure to put 100% into everything that I do and work on.  I am still working full time, doing work for two classes, and with the holidays right around the corner, things have been very hectic for me.

My grades are doing better than they have since I have enrolled with Kaplan University in June of 2009.  Six weeks in, and still with an A and B average thus far.  My goal is to keep my grades at that, if not higher by the end of week 10 (unit 10).  I am finding it hard to keep up due to the fact that both of my classes have a huge amount of work to do each week.  Rather it be assignments, discussion boards, quizzes, exams, or projects.  Its a bummer that both classes tend to have projects due on the same week.

I would like to take this last sentence to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.  May everyone be blessed with their families over these joyful holidays.

Prewriting Techniques

Prewriting techniques that I absolutely love using when doing a research paper include brainstorming and bubbling.  Both of these techniques allow me to quickly write down one word or short phrases that I may want to incorporate into my paper.  For example: my paper is on depression within young adults.  So for both prewriting techniques I can quickly jot down ideas such as Depression, treatments, causes, brain function, most affected age group, etc.

I think all of the prewriting techniques listed in the kaplan library document are helpful.  It really just depends what type of writer a person is on which they prefer to use.  I know a lot of my friends choose to use outlining.  To me this is a harder prewriting technique which takes patience and time to do rather than just jotting down simple quick words that first come to mind.

Thanks

Brainstorming

Hello Everyone,

I have been brainstorming a number of thoughts and ideas to put into my final research paper based on depression within young adults.  I have found so many resources and topic choices to narrow down my ideas on what to base my paper on.  I have finally decided to write about the causes and possible treatments of depression within young adults.

I wish everyone the best of luck!

I have really been putting 100% towards all of my online schooling with Kaplan.  As stated before, I have taken this class in a previous term, but I was unable to pass due to a lack of time to work on assignments and projects.  I feel that I am learning much more material on how to be a better professional writer in this terms course.
